How will they do it? FloRacing has picked up the streaming rights and the drivers are hoping to attract large enough crowds and sponsorship to offset the rest of the costs. There will also be an end-of-year points fund worth $120,000, meaning Larson and Sweet will be injecting a total of $1.2 million into sprint car racing. Outlaw races typically pay $10,000 to win, but High Limit will offer $23,000 for the winner at 10 of its events and $50,000 to win at two other marquee events. High Limit is designed not to conflict with any events sanctioned by the World of Outlaws (the top sprint car series) while also offering more money than a typical sprint car event. Though other dirt series have midweek events, the top circuits typically hold their big-money shows on weekends. Many top NASCAR drivers over the years including Larson, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon have gotten their starts on dirt. Sprint cars are high-powered, open-wheel cars that rip around dirt tracks while going sideways through the corners with intense, close-quarters racing. "You can watch the best sprint car drivers in the world race hard for 12 nights of the year in the middle of the week." "I believe we'll be able to get all the best drivers in the country at a lot of the races, so I think that's what's going to be unique about our series," Larson told The Athletic. Larson and Sweet are among them, of course, and they plan to bring along an all-star cast of friends for each event. The High Limit Sprint Car Series will have a 12-race schedule of midweek races in 2023, all with large purses they expect will attract the world’s top sprint car racers. NASCAR champion Kyle Larson and three-time World of Outlaws champion Brad Sweet are starting a new dirt series they hope will elevate sprint car racing as a whole.
